Human Sciences
In high school, I started in the academic track (ASO) at the College of Diksmuide. For two years, I studied Modern Sciences. After that, I had to choose between a few different specializations. In my third year, I chose Human Sciences, as I found psychology quite interesting. Since I didn't really know what my true interests were at the time, I continued with this track in my fourth year.
After barely scraping through each year, I came to the conclusion that I needed to switch to something that actually interested me.
Switch to VTI Brugge
I started looking for tracks in the creative field. That is how I ended up studying Multimedia Techniques in Bruges. My practical subjects included, among others:
Photoshop
InDesign
Web Development
Video (Adobe Premiere & Adobe After Effects)
After my first year there (the 5th year of secondary school), I knew I had found my passion. So, I finished my final year there as well. Graduating with 92% on my GIP (the final graduation project encompassing all subjects), I was fully convinced that I wanted to pursue a career in this field.
Make the Step
I am incredibly glad that I had the courage to take this step. It was a complete change of environment, making new friends... I can only highly recommend daring to make that leap. Even now that I am out in the professional world, it feels amazing to spend every day doing what you truly love! Follow your passion, and you will get there 100%!
