Driven by my passion for winter sports, I created a 3D scene for Atomic. The process went from initial research and sketching to a rough blockout, followed by weeks of meticulous modeling. It was an intensive but highly rewarding project, and I am proud of the final result.
Briefing
The client has heard that 3D is the next big thing on the web and wants to integrate this on their website in the form of a promotional header. This is where you can shine with your newly acquired Blender skills. Create a hero for their website.

Atomic
For this assignment I chose Atomic, a popular brand for wintersport equipment. I'm really into wintersport and that's why I really loved making this assignment. The beginning of this assignment contained researching about the brand and sketching things out.
Making Blockout
After the sketching phase and researching phase, I made the first 3D blockout (= rough 3D scene with simple shapes). After that I made a reference sheet with pictures that I will use as references for modeling different objects inside the scene.
Modeling, Texturing and Lighting
And then... there are the lots of hours, days, weeks 3D modelling and creating the whole scene. But it was really fun! I was and I am, still, really satisfied with the result.
Improvement
Through this assignment, I learned newer techniques and improved my skills in advanced modeling by using new methods and shortcuts. I also took my first steps into texturing. Finally, I learned how to work with lighting to ensure that all elements stand out sufficiently while the most important ones catch the eye.
